Practically perfect in every way! This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way! From the location, to the friendliness of the staff, the quality of everything in the room - this is definitely the place to stay. The suite was so spacious - and it literally cost pennies more than a standard room. Don't think I've ever sat on such a huge sofa! Everything had a quality feel to it, crockery, cutlery, products in the bathroom, right down to the cocktail set and glasses. Lovely little extras, like a gift left on your door on Christmas Day. To the drinks vouchers given by the lovely Hannah, on check-in, when I mentioned that my day had all gone wrong. This truly is a hidden gem in central Manchester, and considering the location, it was incredibly quiet.

There were many hotels within walking distance from Manchester coach station, after looking at prices and reviews i decided Whitworth Locke was where I should stay. Having stayed in a different hotel in the surrounding area previously (because it was the cheapest available option) I was largely underwhelmed with that experience, so my expectations were fairly low. It was nice and easy to find and as I entered the front door at around 8pm there was loud music blasting possibly too loud as I couldn't really hear the receptionist. But beyond that, no gripes. Both the receptionists (that evening and following morning) were helpful and pleasant. The room was perfect for what I needed and it was incredibly clean and hygienic.

hotel is well placed for this area of Manchester only a 10 minute walk from Piccadilly train station Pleasant, friendly staff in a modern reception area our only criticisms would be that the lighting in our room was inadequate and the large windows need nets or blinds as when the curtains are drawn the room interior is clearly visible to the office staff working in the building next door and closing the curtains makes the problem of poor lighting even worse, but a very comfortable and spacious room on the third floor with a well equipped kitchen and large walk in shower

It's a great old building located not too far from the Piccadilly Train station (10 minute walk). It's set back from the road and feels a little out of place (which is good). The room I booked was superb, huge, very comfortable and really clean. The same could be said for the rather large en-suite bathroom. The staff at check-in were good, though there was a small queue and I had to wait for a few minutes. The check-in area is part of the bar area. Plenty of facilities, a warren of rooms on the floor and subfloor levels.

Great location right opposite canal street so walking distance to the arndale, northern quarter and even a train station. Beautiful room and they even left me a bottle of wine for my birthday which was a great touch! Great being able to WhatsApp the front desk too and the foundation coffee house downstairs is great to grab a beverage post gym!
